biography
annie scott (b. 2002, aspen, colorado) will receive their bachelor degree in studio art and history from williams college, williamstown, ma in june 2025.
across their body of work, exploration of the visceral and the uncomfortable can be traced. Their attraction to the use of bold color and juxtaposition has guided the consistent use of red, black, and white in many of their works. they also continue to touch on the extremes of their personality, frequently relying on symbolism to do so.
many of their pieces bring in elements of performance, voyeurism, and provocative discomfort, exploring the dissonant mismatch between their embodied self and their cognitive self. annie challenges viewers to consider their active role as an audience to their pieces– often involving intimate self exploration. on a broader scale, Annie confronts the queer struggle to feel ownership over one's body, bringing in themes of gender roles, dysmorphia, and addiction.
annie currently lives in williamstown, ma where they attend their senior year at williams college
